Hunting

House hunting that is… can be frustrating.  We found a house last week that we liked and put in an offer, but it was rejected.  I originally said that I wouldn’t be too disappointed if we didn’t get that house because it wasn’t in our ideal location, but it was perfect for a young family.  Well, turns out, I was disappointed.  So we started the search again.  Last night we saw a house in the same neighborhood that we liked even more, and is a little cheaper.  We also think that we go to church with this family.  Small world.  Anyway, we are going to look at a few more houses before we decide to put in an offer anywhere else.  I hope that this hunt comes to a swift and pleasant end, because I’m really looking forward to garbage disposal, a garage, and a master bedroom that has a window.

On a side note, I should be an aunt again at the end of the day!

Stellan

In lieu of “Not Me Monday”, I thought that I would instead ask you to pray for a sweet baby boy named Stellan.  His mom is the writer of mycharmingkids.net, and the originial author of the usual Monday tradition.  Stellan is a very sick little boy right now, and has to be flown across the country for an urgent cardiac surgery.  You can read all about it here if you are unfamiliar with his story.

Thank you for your prayers!

Truvia

I’ve seen a couple of commercials for this no-calorie “natural” sweetener… but don’t know much about it (i.e. does it carry the same health risks as other no-calorie sweeteners?).  I haven’t been able to find much info.  So I’m curious, have you heard anything about it?

More Monday Confessions

Unfamiliar with the concept of “Not Me Monday?”  Head over to McMama’s blog!

  • On Tuesday, I did NOT come home from work so whiney that I annoyed my husband to bits, and finally compared myself to a teeny tiny whiney baby.  I also did NOT fall asleep during a movie that I forced Andrew to watch by my whininess.
  • After buying groceries (and my arms full of them), I did NOT stub my toe on the front door to my house and have to restrain myself from letting out a flood of profanities.
  • I also did NOT try to make okra thinking, “Well, I’ve never really heard anything about it, but I’ll bet it will taste like asparagus.”  Guess what.  It did NOT!

Par-tay!

Megan's Bachelorette Party

I love spending time with the girls.  Especially when we are celebrating something special, like an upcoming wedding as we were in the above picture.  I love spending time with people I love.  Aren’t friends great?

Love

I love him

I love him

Last night, as it was taking me forever to fall asleep, I snuggled up to Andrew simply because I could, and was overwhelmed with thankfulness for the gift of my wonderful husband.  It is simply amazing to me that the Lord chose to bless me (and at such a young age) with such an amazing man who loves me so well.

Here are some of the reasons I love him:

  • He is the most difficult person in the world to annoy.  Seriously.
  • He loves Jesus.
  • He loves people.  A lot.  Waaaaay more than I do.
  • He is generous.
  • He cooks for me.
  • He is selfless, although he would beg to differ.
  • He is totally opposite me in so many ways, which balances me out perfectly.
  • He is a thinker.
  • He loves his family.
  • He loves my family and has a special place in his heart for my “baby” brother (who now has Facebook, by the way, which totally freaks me out)
  • He’s a studmuffin.  Yes.  I said studmuffin.
  • He loves me so much better than I deserve.

Before the Throne of God Above

Before the throne of God above
I have a strong, a perfect plea:
A great High Priest, whose name is Love,
Who ever lives and pleads for me.

My name is graven on his hands,
My name is written on his heart;
I know that while in heaven he stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart
No tongue can bid me thence depart.

When Satan tempts me to despair,
And tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look, and see him there
Who made an end of all my sin.

Because a sinless Savior died,
My sinful soul is counted free;
For God, the Just, is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me
To look on Him and pardon me

Behold him there, the risen Lamb
My perfect, spotless righteousness,
The great unchangeable I am,
The King of glory and of grace!

One in himself, I cannot die
My soul is purchased by his blood
My life is hid with Christ on high,
With Christ, my Savior and my God
With Christ, my Savior and my God

(I was tempted to bold the parts of the song that I especially like, but then realized I’d bold the whole song!)

And to go with a fav song… here is a fav photo.  As you can see… the only thing I have learned so far is how to blur backgrounds.  Oh well!
